Welcome 2 Canada Tour 2011

Back on the road with Prince and the NPG for the Welcome To Canada tour. I love this band. Everyone is so talented. Liv and Shelby are my singing soul sisters- Cassie is a multi-tasking genius on the keys and vocals- Ida is the sweetest funkiest bass player I know-Morris is such a gentleman and also a very talented cat-John Blackwell is a beast on the drums. Andy Allo is the newest member of the NPG. She has such a fun personality on stage and is a great singer/songwriter. You'll hear more from her next year.....I'm telling you-it is an honor playing with these musicians. Every night we go on stage- it's a new show. It never gets old because it's always spontaneous and fun-as it should be. Prince is mind boggling-in a good way. His many talents-his songs-his arrangements- his moves- his charisma- everything just blows me away. He is the teacher and we are his pupils. Learning from his example and growing in so many ways as musicians and human beings. I feel so very blessed. Mind you...I need to find the time to sleep as much as possible when singing soprano parts ;o) With my thyroid condition, it is very important for me to rest because I can become hoarse very quickly. It stinks but it's true. I know my body better than anyone and I know my limitations and my strengths. It's been hard to find time to go to the gym and sleep enough-but the workout on stage is keeping my weight off-for now. I need to find the time to do it all-because it's very easy for the weight to creep back and get me and that scares me. I never want to go back to feeling unhealthy and out of shape again. I feel so much better and more confident on stage now that I've lost the weight. I still want to lose another 10-15 pounds but it's very hard to eat the right things on the road because the schedule fluctuates so much. The routine-is not a set in stone routine making it very difficult to stay on a path. So when I get on stage- I work it out! Hopefully I won't work it out so much that I fall off the stage cause it can get pretty scary up there! It's high off the ground and there are some narrow areas we dance on at times. The klutz in me freaks out and trys to hide it! The shows have been awesome and the audiences even better! I got to sing a solo of the Beatles "Yesterday" on the very first show and it was so much fun. I hope I get to do it again!!! Only 15 days till I see my baby girl and hubby. We've been skyping and I've been sending her little gifts here and there to help her get through mommy being gone. Now that she's getting older, I think it's getting a little harder for her to see me gone. Breaks my heart when I see her being sad...but the reality is that even if I was at home, I would still need to work and work would take me away from her at home too. Gone are the days where one parent works and the other stays at home. I think it's sad that it isn't like that anymore. It is what it is and guess what...mommy is so happy doing what she loves to do. I think she gets it now cause I told her very honestly that mommy loves her more than anything in this world but if mommy had to work-this is the one job mommy would want to do most of all. She smiled and said she understood :o) She's such a little sweetheart. Looking forward to Christmas with my family...and after Christmas up until New Years with my Dad, my brother Billy, my brother Bobby and his son Alex (my nephew) and my brother Jimmy, his wife Rachel and their two kids Sofia and Evan (my niece and nephew). Olivia is so excited to see her cousins and I'm so excited to have all of my family together again in the same room. It hasn't happened in such a long time so it will be extra special this year. Making the holidays absolutely perfect for me. I hope you all have a wonderful holiday season. All the blessings and good health and love you deserve to have in your life.
Take care and God bless.
Luv, Elisa
